Robert D. “Bob” Levengood, 71, went home to his heavenly father on July 12, 2024, at Ohio’s Hospice – Truman House at New Philadelphia, following a lengthy battle with cancer. 

Born January 5, 1953, in Dover, Ohio, Bob was the son of the late Clyde “Bud” Levengood and is survived by his mother, Nancy (Lahmers) Levengood of Beach City. His journey through life was marked by notable achievements and cherished moments surrounded by family and friends.

Growing up on the family farm in Beach City, Bob developed a deep connection to the land and a strong work ethic that would define his future endeavors. He actively participated in showing cattle his 4-H group, laying the foundation for his passion for agriculture and livestock. In his professional life, Bob was the Owner and Operator of L&M Trucking and Excavating of Bowerston. His dedication to his work was evident to all who knew him, reflecting his hardworking spirit and commitment to excellence.

Beyond his career success, Bob will be remembered for the love he had for his family and friends. He found great joy in spending time with those closest to him, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and warmth. Those who had the privilege of knowing Bob will recall him for his quick wit, great sense of humor, and welcoming nature. He approached each day with a positive attitude and an open heart, never failing to make a connection with everyone he met.

On December 8, 1973, in the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada, Bob married the love of life, Monica (Grimes) Levengood and together they shared over 50 years of marriage. Also surviving are his two sons, Raymond “Buddy” Levengood and his companion, Wendy Coghe and David (Tasha) Levengood, all of Bowerston; four grandsons, Sean, Andrew, Robby and DJ; two sisters, Barbara (Michael) Bishop and Mary Ann (Fred) Miller; his mother-in-law, Helen Grimes; two brothers-in-law, Andy Grimes and his companion Deanna Dutcher and Sherwin (DeEtta) Grimes; a sister-in-law, Sandy (Joe) Dynarski; an uncle and many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and Friends are invited to call on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 4 to 7 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. A service celebrating Bob’s life will be Friday, July 19, 2024 at 11 AM with Pastor Mike Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Conotton Cemetery at Conotton.
