Robert “Hap” Cross, 83, of New Philadelphia, passed away July 1, 2022 in Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital at Dover.
Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on August 29, 1938, he was the son of the late Franklin John and Norma Jean (Bigler) Cross.
After completing his formal education, Hap honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corp. On July 28, 1957, he married the former Elizabeth “Betty” Jean Grasselli.
Hap greatly enjoyed the outdoors, whether he was fishing, hunting, or camping. He also was a devoted family man.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; his son, Donald (Susan) Cross; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his brother, Richard Cross.
In addition to his parents, Hap was preceded in death by his children, Robert Cross and Ronald Cross, Sr.; and numerous siblings.
A public graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 1 p.m. in Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia.
