Robert T. Janson, age 88, of Dover, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover. He was born on September 6, 1937, to the late Raymond T. and Ida May (Lostetter) Janson.
Robert was the devoted husband of the late Dorothy (Aschbacher) Janson, with whom he married in May of 1979. He shared many years of love and companionship until her passing on July 31, 2024. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Laurie Janson Zimmerman; his sisters, Betty Ann Janson, Vivian (Carl) Russell, Lois (Robert) Jacobson, and Patricia (George) Thayer.
Robert was the owner and operator of Zephyr Press, which he led with dedication and integrity for 30 years. His hard work and commitment left a lasting mark on the local business community and those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Robert also proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army Reserves, reflecting his deep sense of duty and service. His favorite hobby was watching and racing his drag car at Dragway 42.
He is survived by his son, Robert “Robbie” (Diane) Janson; daughters, Connie Honsberger, Ruth Little, Lisa Janson Waller; along with many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Grandview Union Cemetery on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11:00 am with Pastor David Wing officiating. Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Strasburg, 140 South Bodmer, Strasburg, Ohio 44680, on Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. A meal will follow at the funeral home following the service.
