Roberta “Bobbie” Rae Kennedy, 73, of Gnadenhutten passed away at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital on May 30, 2024.
Bobbie was born at Twin City Hospital in Dennison on January 21, 1951, to the late Earl H. and S. Lorraine (Miller) Kennedy. She grew up in the area, graduating from Indian Valley South in 1969. Following high school, Bobbie married Brice Miller, with whom she shared two daughters who survive. Together, Bobbie and Brice ran Kenndy’s IGA and Miller’s Market. After the market, Bobbie went on to become a lab tech for Mercy Medical Center, where she worked until her retirement. Eventually, Bobbie and Brice divorced, but their friendship remained strong to the end.
Bobbie was a former member, pianist, and organist of the Gnadenhutten United Methodist Church. Her love of music also extended to involvement with the Ohio Youth Choir. She was involved with her community, baking for neighbors, attending sporting events for her grandchildren, taking part in card club, and keeping up with her close group of friends from high school, with whom she went to lunch and dinner often. Bobbie also enjoyed keeping up with her physical fitness exercises and going antiquing for her home decorations.
Surviving are her two daughters: Amy (Chad) Colvin of Port Washington, and Erin Miller (Companion Jason Caldwell) of Gnadenhutten; her five grandchildren: Chloe, Zachary, and Zane Colvin, and Solomon and Sophia Cox; two sisters: Sondra (Chuck) Demuth, and Sharon Guy; four nephews: Chris (Christa) Demuth, Jason (Leah) Demuth, David (Diana) Guy, and Danny Guy; and many cousins, great nieces and great nephews.
Along with her parents, Bobbie is preceded in death by her beloved pets Pepper, Duke, and Scooter.
