Rocky Lane Moore, 43, of Gnadenhutten died unexpectedly Saturday morning, April 27, 2024, at his home. He was born in Dover on November 8, 1980, to Rick Moore of Uhrichsville and Marlee (Mark) Beatty of Gnadenhutten. He graduated from Indian Valley High School in 1999 and then worked at Mailer’s Choice before going to work for the US Postal Service as a rural mail carrier for the last eight years. Rocky loved fishing at Salt Fork Lake, kayaking the Tuscarawas River with his daughter and son-in-law, camping at Twin Hills, and teaching and playing baseball with his son in the backyard. He was also a Bigfoot enthusiast, who enjoyed listening to and telling stories about the legend.

Along with his parents, Rocky is survived by his wife, Shannon, whom he married on June 2, 2012, two children: Cloey (Dakota) Vance, and Parker Moore; siblings: Kayla Amore, Kelsey Moore, Janine Beatty, and Marcus Beatty; father-in-law Terry (Michelle) Stine, mother-in-law Connie (Dave) Burrier, sister-in-law Brittany (Roger) Bloom, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Preceding him in death are grandparents: William and Truth Moore, Jack Smith, and Shirley (Melvin Neibert) Smith; and a sister Sarah Hostetler.

In keeping with Rocky’s wishes, he will be cremated with no other services planned.
