Ronald Dean McPeek, II, 59, of Tuscarawas, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, after a period of declining health. Born October 18, 1963, in Dover, he was the son of the late Ronald Dean and Ruth Jayne (Wright) McPeek.
A lifelong Tusky resident, Ronnie grew up attending Sharon Moravian Church and was a 1982 graduate of Indian Valley North High School where he excelled in athletics. He will be remembered for playing both punter and quarterback and was named to the All-County football teams, as well as being an outstanding basketball player. After high school, he attended West Liberty University where he played football.
On August 5, 1995, Ronnie married Donna Marie (Cottrill) McPeek with whom he enjoyed over 18 years of marriage until her passing on December 1, 2013. They are survived by four children, Andrew (Rachel) McPeek, Elizabeth McPeek, Seth (McKenzie) McPeek, and Jordan (Simon) Hartford, and three grandchildren, Elliett, Lincoln, and Andersen. Ronnie is also survived by his siblings, Kim (Albert) Butcher, Mary Ann Milligan, and Pat McPeek, and many nieces and nephews.
Ronnie spent his entire working life as an employee of Superior Clay until retiring recently from his position as foreman there. Throughout his life, he loved golfing, and in later years, he also enjoyed outings with his sister to Wheeling where they enjoyed gaming. He loved spending time with his family, especially traveling on fishing trips and enjoying large family gatherings for holidays and special occasions. Ronnie was proud to have raised his four children whom he loved dearly.
Pastor Lloyd Gooden will officiate a 1:00 p.m. graveside service on Monday, January 9, in Sharon Moravian Church Cemetery near Tuscarawas.
