Rose Mary Pancher, 101, most recently a resident of Park Village in Dover, Ohio, formerly of Uhrichsville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover, Ohio, after a long, full life. Born April 12, 1924 in Uhrichsville, she was the last surviving child of the late Joseph and Josephine (Princiotta) Natoli – having been preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Mary Jane Natoli, Joe and Mildred Natoli, and Collagio Natoli.
Rose was a lifelong Uhrichsville resident who was graduated as valedictorian of Uhrichsville High School’s class of 1942, before attending Muskingum Business Institute in New Philadelphia. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker, she had also worked as the bookkeeper at Larson Clay in Gnadenhutten for over 30 years. She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Dennison and its Altar Society.
Rose may be most remembered for her longtime, dedicated service to the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum where she had been their first and eldest volunteer. She was passionate about her volunteer work there – volunteering from 1989 until the pandemic in 2020. She received an award for being the longest standing volunteer since the Depot opened in 1989. She especially loved working at the Depot with her longtime friend, Lois DiDonato. Rose was a jack-of-all-trades there, doing everything from ordering for the Gift Shop…to helping out in the office when needed… to booking and working the Polar Express weekends for many years.
Rose greatly enjoyed doing beautiful needlepoint and counted cross stitch pieces for family and friends. She also enjoyed years of playing the card game, Canasta, monthly with a group of longtime friends. Rose was an avid reader, as well, who especially enjoyed novels. She was an avid Cleveland Indians/Guardians fan – not missing a game on TV and attending games in person until recently.
On September 6, 1952, Rose married Gilbert J. “Gibby” Pancher with whom she enjoyed 53 years of loving marriage until his passing on December 28, 2005. They were blessed with three children, Jim (significant other, Tina Riley), John (Robin) Pancher, and Joanne (Dave) Decker; three grandchildren, Jonathan (Heather) Decker, Ben (Hannah) Decker, and Caitlin (Skyler) McCully; and four great-grandchildren, Jesse Spratt Decker, Eleanor and Lorelai Decker, and Sullivan McCully, all of whom survive her, along with many nieces and nephews, and great- and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Father Jeff Coning will celebrate the funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Church in Dennison. She will be interred with her beloved husband in St. Mary’s Cemetery near Dennison on a future date. Family and friends are invited to call at the R. K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, prior to the Mass. Those wishing to honor her memory by a charitable contribution are encouraged to do so to the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum, P. O. Box 11, Dennison, OH 44621.
