Ross F. Best, IV, age 35, of New Philadelphia, died Thursday, October 19, 2023, following a lengthy mental illness.
A son of the late Ross V. Best, III and Marcella J. Hankins, Ross was born on April 3, 1988 in Twin City Hospital at Dennison.
Ross attended Claymont High School and was an avid hunter and fisher. To his family and friends, he was loving and kind and known for his ability to write poetry and draw. He was previously employed by Nelson Tree Service where he worked as a climber.
He is survived by his children, Gabriella Poorman and Ross Best, V; his companion, Elenna Poorman; a half-brother, Joseph (Erica) DeVore; his step-mother, Tammy DeVore, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his mother and father, Ross was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ross “Bud” Best, II and Sherry Best, and Aubrey Hankins and Rachel Hankins.
A memorial gathering will be held at 222 N. Main Street, Uhrichsville, Ohio 44683, on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 2:00 – 5:00 PM.
