Roy L. Tidwell, 87, passed away on February 7, 2022, at his home in Newcomerstown, OH. He was born on May 29, 1934, in Coalfield, TN, to the late Floyd and Grace (Smith) Tidwell.
Roy married Ruth (Ward) Tidwell on June 2, 1956. He retired from Midland Steel. He was a member of the Newcomerstown Senior Center. Roy enjoyed bluegrass music, dancing, fishing, hunting, and working in his garden. He especially loved his grandchildren.
Along with his wife, Ruth, Roy is survived by his children, David (Cheryl) Tidwell of Newcomerstown, Ronald (Jean) Tidwell of Newcomerstown; grandchildren, Nelson, Mike (Misty), Katie, David; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Addison, Nicholas, Brian; siblings, Robert Tidwell, James (Margie) Tidwell, Henrietta (Herbert) Teal.
Roy is preceded in death by his grandson, David A.; brothers, Floyd (Peggy) Tidwell, Albert (June) Tidwell; sister-in-law, Betty Tidwell.
The service for Roy Tidwell will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Addy Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Ernie Norman. Visitation will take place from 11 AM-1 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Peoples Community Church Cemetery in Newcomerstown. Online condolences may be made at www.addyfuneralhome.com.
