Ruth Ann Greenwood, a lifelong resident of the area, born on June 8, 1949, went to her eternal home on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, after a brief decline in health. Ruth was foremost a daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandma, sister, and aunt. Ruth loved spending time with her family, talking with friends, fishing, and doing yard sale shopping.

Ruth leaves behind two sons, C. Lee (Jan) Slocum, Jr. of Port Washington, Scot (Becky) Slocum of Texas; one sister, Rose Palmer of Canal Fulton; grandchildren, Tyler Slocum, Leah Stringer, Tiffany Oviatt, Preston Slocum; five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind nephews, Chris and Allen Marteny; two nieces, Tammy Tusing and Sherry Palmer; several great-nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Bessie McPeek; sister, Diane Marteny; two nieces, Kirsten Mansfield and Stephanie Marteny; an aunt, Vernie Shepler.

According to her wishes, there will be no public services. Any donations can be made to the Community Hospice Truman House, 716 Commercial Ave SW New Philadelphia, OH 44663. Any well wishes can be directed to her son, Lee Slocum, at 12272 Glasgow Rd, Port Washington, OH, 43837.
