Nick McWilliams reporting – With Memorial Day weekend fast approaching, nearly 200 flags will go up throughout New Philadelphia through the Rotary’s participation in the Salute Freedom Project.

Flags that are placed for the holiday weekend will stay up throughout the summer and fall, before being taken down on Veteran’s Day on November.

Interested residents can participate by visiting www.newphilaphiarotary.com and paying a $30 donation to cover costs of flags and upkeep.

Flags will only be placed in the New Phila area under their project, and all previous subscribers should have already received renewal information.

The Rotary club will also install flags that line the downtown square and along North Broadway near Tuscora Park.

Paper registration forms are also available on the Rotary website, which can be completed and mailed to New Philadelphia rotary Club at P.O. Box 331, New Phila, Ohio 44663.
