Sandra K. “Sandy” Lorenz, 76, of Sugarcreek, died on Monday, November 7, 2022, at Community Hospice House in New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.
She was born in Sugarcreek on July 27, 1946, to the late Walter E. and Thelma Marie (Rausch) Immel and married Paul Lorenz on September 27, 1993. He died on July 13, 2022.
She worked as a waitress at the former Swiss Hat Restaurant, Sugarcreek Bowling Lanes Restaurant, and Berlin House in Berlin.
She was a member of the Sugarcreek First United Church of Christ and had attended NewPointe Church in Dover.
She is survived by her daughters, Robin K. (Jeff) Kaser of Sugarcreek and Tammy Sue (Albert) Gutheridge of Baltic; 3 stepsons, Mark (Stephanie) Lorenz of New Albany, Steven (Malinda) Lorenz of Fresno, and Timothy (Terri) Lorenz of Kentucky; 5 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Patricia (Leslie) Kaser of Sugarcreek.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her nephew Todd Kaser.
In keeping with Sandra’s wishes, a private family graveside service will be held in Union Hill Cemetery with Pastor Bill Eckert officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek.
