The area’s next representative for the Miss Ohio contest is being crowned this weekend.

Miss Clayland Director Martha Campbell says their annual competition is happening Saturday at 7pm at Claymont High School with eight young ladies in the running.

Campbell says the ladies will go through private interviews with the judges in the afternoon and then take four in the four competitions for the audience that evening.  They are: the on-stage question about their community service initiative, health & fitness, eveningwear, and talent.

Campbell adds the program will award 55-hundred dollars in scholarships Saturday night.  Tickets will be available at the door for 10 dollars.

They’ll also be selling raffle tickets for OSU memorabilia and other prizes.
