Area superintendents are evaluating results from the new 2024 state report cards.
Out of the eight public school districts in Tuscarawas County, Indian Valley scored the highest in the overall rating category by scoring 4.5 out of five stars.
Superintendent Ira Wentworth says his district has found success by deciding several years ago it would chase student learning rather than state report card results.
In addition to the overall rating, the districts are also ranked in categories that include achievement, progress, gap closing, early literacy, and graduation. Wentworth says his district improved from 2023.
Meanwhile, Dover, Garaway, and Tusky Valley schools received overall ratings of four stars.
New Philadelphia and Strasburg scored three and a half stars.
Claymont and Newcomerstown earned overall ratings of three stars.
