A nationwide signup contest at Menard stores is ongoing and the March winner was a man from Scio.
The New Philadelphia store passed the keys to a Chevy 1500 Silverado truck to Thomas Wilson on Monday.
Local Menards General Manager Matt Berman says it’s exciting for Tuscarawas County’s location since there are 380 stores.
“We’ve been open since 2019 and this is the first one we’ve given away. Even ten percent of those people that go into those stores and just at least register, you’re thinking of almost a million a month that one person will be chosen. Go back, sign up, and you always save big money every day.”
As for Wilson, he says he enjoys coming to Menards and never really thought he’d win the sweepstakes drawing but would sign up anyway.
“It takes less than thirty seconds so it can’t get any easier. Never thought we’d win but it’s actually real.”
The monthly promotion is supported through different sponsorships to help with the purchase of the vehicle and for March, the sweepstake’s supporter was Ideal Door.
