Mary Alice Reporting – Another hearing will be held to gather input from community members on a grant program.

The Community Housing Impact and Preservation Program (CHIP) can include dollars from multiple grant funding sources and is administered by the Ohio Department of Development/Office of Community Development.

Once again, two cities, New Philadelphia and Uhrichsville, are forming a partnership to receive funding. The maximum award would be $650,000, with the more southern city getting $300,000 and New Phila awarded $50,000 more.

A second public hearing is set for Thursday, May 18th, at 9:15am to allow for public comment about specific activities proposed for the 2023 CHIP projects.

As part of the initiative, activities must be designed to benefit low-to-moderate income households.
