The Tuscarawas County Public Library is using national library card sign-up month in September to remind everyone they’re now fine-free.
Director Michele Ramsell says they promote that there’s no shame at the library, like when it comes to overdue books.
Meanwhile, Ramsell says the library assumes that books borrowed for more than 30 days are lost, and the borrower will be charged the replacement cost and can lose card privileges but that cost doesn’t have to be paid as long at the material is returned to the library.
National library card sign-up month has been happening since 1987 each September to mark the beginning of the school year.
Meanwhile, area library locations are closed today because of Labor Day.
