Mary Alice Reporting –

Four people were transported Sunday morning following a two-vehicle collision in Mill Township.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers, a deputy from the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, Dennison and Uhrichsville fire personnel, and Smith Ambulance were on scene for the 10am collision on Wolford Road.

Trooper Matthew Clapper says the 2013 Ford F-250 pickup truck was northwest when it hit the car.

“2017 Nissan Altima was traveling southeast on Township Road 292. The Ford traveled left of center and struck the Nissan head-on. Both vehicles traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a fence.”

The truck received minor damage, but the car was totaled, and fire units had to extricate the driver.

“The driver of the Ford F-250 was transported to Trinity by Smith Ambulance with minor injuries. The driver of the Nissan was airlifted to Akron City by MedFlight with serious injuries.”

The other car passengers, an adult in the front and a juvenile in the backseat, were transported by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver was cited for going left of center and distracted driving.
