Sharon Kay Amick, 74, of New Philadelphia passed away peacefully in the Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia following an extended period of declining health.

Born in Dover on September 6, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Paul and Alice Kathleen (Smith) Amick. After graduating from New Philadelphia High School, Sharon spent more than 25 years serving in the children’s department at the Tuscarawas County Public Library prior to retirement.

She was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Paula and Tiffany. She enjoyed spending time with family and lifelong friends, the Armstrong family. Additionally, Sharon was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, bird watching, listening to music, attending local festivals, and going to Tom Jones concerts. In her younger days, she enjoyed making lovely stained glass sun catchers, jewelry boxes, and ceramics. Sharon was a lover of the wonderful local pizza restaurants, Dutch Valley, Sugarcreek the Little Switzerland of Ohio, and enjoyed spending time at Tuscora Park.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Paula (Bob) Humphries and Tiffany (Zach) Meek; grandchildren, Haleigh (Adam) Hixon, Johnny (Lauren) Humphries, Paisley (Kip) Humphries, Hope (Simon) Humphries, Madison, Maliha, and Makenzie Meek; great-grandchildren, Landon and Jordy Hixon, Conner, Harry, Reinhart, Lancelot Humphries, and Wren Marchetti; siblings, Eugene Amick, II, Nena Amick, William Amick; nieces and nephews, Kari (Keith) Hill, Genesis Amick (Tim), Alanis Durbin (Nick), Sara Amick, Vivian Amick, Matthew Amick; great-nephews and niece, Zachary and Ivey Hill and Jacob Durbin.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her brother, John Amick; and sisters-in-law, Bev Amick and Mary Amick.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022, in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover from 10 to 11 a.m. Pastors Jeff Gerber and Jill Lovett will lead a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Dover Burial Park.

Memorial contributions in Sharon’s memory may be directed to either of her daughters.
