Sherri Lynn Smith (Shirley) of Bowerston, Ohio, passed away into the arms of Jesus on October 14th, 2023, in New Philadelphia, Ohio. She was born February 15th, 1953, in Canton, Ohio, to the late Willard (Woody) and Mary Shirley. She was a faithful follower of her Lord Jesus Christ and proclaimed his power and love in her life.
Sherri was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She married her devoted husband of 31 years, Dwaine Smith, on July 15, 1992. She brought two dedicated children into this world, Karri (Michael) Bowling of East Canton, Ohio, and Matthew (Audra) Youngen of Louisville, Ohio.
Sherri affectionately valued her children and was proud of the lives that they built. This pride and admiration extended to her cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. In total she has six grandchildren: Tessa (Trey) Corrick of Canton, Ohio, Alli (Justin) Vangundy, Jc Bowling, Mara Bowling all of East Canton, Ohio, Alivia Youngen, and Ryker Youngen both of Louisville, Ohio. And two great grandchildren: Kori Corrick and Colby Corrick (who is due to be born on November 20th, 2023.)
In addition to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Sherri is survived by three sisters: Darlene (Larry) Offenberger of Waynesburg, Ohio, Noreen (Jerry) McKinney of Strasburg, Ohio, and Brenda (Rocky) McKinney of Malvern, Ohio. Her uncle, Rod (Chris) Shirley of Strasburg, Ohio, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom were dear to her.
Sherri Lynn Smith will be dearly missed by all those she leaves behind. Her life will continually remain in our hearts and minds as we treasure the memories, we made with her. May her soul find infinite rest and healing in the arms of her Heavenly Father.
