Sherrill Dawn Rankin, age 80, of Midvale, died, Friday, August 5, 2022, in Schoenbrunn Health Care Center in New Philadelphia following a brief battle with bone Cancer.
Born in Carthage, New York on February 3, 1942, Sherrill was the daughter of the late David D. and Margaret E. (Ayers) Hopseker.
Following her graduation from High School Sherrill studied accounting and has worked for the past 29 years at the New Philadelphia Walmart as a Customer Service Associate. She enjoyed decorating, crafting, making, and selling herb bags from her own custom and secret blend, spending time with her friends attending shows at The Amish Theatre, and being with her grandchildren.
She leaves behind her children, Barbara (Kevin) Steinhour of Mansfield, Ohio, David (Maria) Ritter of Vancouver, Washington, and Beverly Ritter of Dover; 11 grandchildren, Shane, Ryan, Drew, Angie, Joshua, David, Nathanael, Tyler, Caitlin, Sierra, and Alyssa; 8 great-granddaughters; her nieces, Debbie, Donna, Terri, and Sue and their families.
Sherrill was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Rankin, and her brother, Dale Hopseker.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Ridgecrest Memory Gardens.
