Shirley Lee Griffin, 95, a lifelong Uhrichsville resident, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 25, 2024. Born February 15, 1928 in Uhrichsville, she was a daughter of the late Roy Lee and Nina Bell (McCue) Brindley.

Shirley was a 1946 graduate of Uhrichsville High School and a longtime member of Uhrichsville First Christian Church. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as a dear friend to many in her church and her neighborhood.

On January 27, 1949, she married Edward Eugene Griffin with whom she enjoyed 67 years of marriage until his passing on September 10, 2016. They are survived by a son, Eddie E. Griffin Jr. and his wife, Bonnie; a daughter, Debra Jean Griffin; grandchildren, Jason, Christie, and Amy Griffin; and great-grandchildren, Chase Griffin and Hannah, Evan, and Bella Brooks. Shirley is also survived by her siblings, Redell “Butch” (Penny) Brindley and Peggy McPeck; sister-in-law, Rita Brindley; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Dick and Jack Brindley; brother- and sister-in-law, Jack and Loretta Griffin; and special aunt, Ada Griffin.

In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, she will be cremated before being interred at Deersville-Patterson Union Cemetery in Deersville beside her beloved husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Uhrichsville First Christian Church and the Principal Funds at Claymont’s Eastport Elementary and Trenton Elementary Schools.
