Mary Alice Reporting – Work is starting this week to improve walking in the Village of Dennison.
Gor-Con Construction, from Dover, will perform the three week project in the Thornwood Park area with concrete demolition starting on Gardner Avenue.
The project was planned in 2021 at a cost of over $171,000. A Community Development Block Grant is funding $150,800 and the village is covering the remaining share.
Village Administration released at timeline of the work and it lists worker moving onto the sidewalk on McCrea Avenue by May 19th.
For the week of May 22nd, McCrea Avenue sidewalks and aprons will near completion and by the week of May 29th, Johnson Avenue will be finished. McCook Avenue is slated for completion the week of June 5th. Work is weather permitting.
As part of the work, sidewalks will be replaced and some new will be installed. Seeding and mulching will occur in some spots as well.
The village asks residents and motorists to utilize caution in the Thornwood Park area and for some residents, along the construction route, they may be asked to remove their vehilce from the street to access the sidewalk.
