Mary Alice Reporting –

Safety improvement project to impact State Route 39 traffic, at Kimble Landfill, starting on Monday, July 8th.

This stretch of roadway, between Red Hill Road and the businesses’ entrance, is heavily traveled and a detour may cause a little extra time.

Ohio Department of Transportation District 11 Public Information Officer Lauren Borell says this vital 45-day project will improve safety conditions.

“For a safety improvement project. Right there before the Kimble entrance there’s a slight hill and curvature in the road that has caused some concern for years regarding sight distance and stopping distance.”

The official detour is State Route 516 north to State Route 93 south and reverse. To increase traffic flow on the detour route, the State Route 516/State Route 93 intersection in Dundee will temporarily change from a two-way stop to a four-way stop.

Borell asks for people to be patient during the course of work
