Stanley “Joe” Freshour, age 74, a resident of the Bowerston Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center near Leesville, Ohio, died early Friday morning, March 3, 2023. 

He was born April 2, 1948, in Parkersburg, West Virginia and was the son of the late Roy and Maxine (Harries) Freshour.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his ex-wife Amanda A. (Brownfield) Freshour, two brothers, Rick and Norman Freshour, and two sisters, Thelma “Tubby” Wells and Lisa Swiger

He retired from Republic Steel in Canton where he was employed as an overhead crane operator for more than 22 years.  Joe also operated his family farm in Bowerston for thirty years and was a former member of the Sherrodsville Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. 

He is survived by  a son, Stanley “Joe” (Tracy) Freshour II of Prescott Valley, Arizona,  four step-sons, Charles L. “Chuck” (Betty) Campbell of Dellroy, OH,  Dannial W. Campbell of Bowerston, Jessie F. “Frank” Campbell of Uhrichsville OH, and Randy J. Campbell of Conotton, OH, a  step-daughter,  Mrs. Angela (Paul) Shafer of Scio, OH,  a sister, Deborah Hester of Canton, OH, two brothers Nelson Freshour and Kevin Freshour, both of Canton, and a large family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Public calling hours will be observed on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home at Sherrodsville. No formal funeral service is planned.
