A popular holiday attraction at Tuscora Park is in the process of becoming preserved as a book of its own.

The New Philadelphia Rotary Club is taking pre-orders on its first-ever story book lane children’s book. It details how Vic Marsh and his neighbors began putting these nursery rhyme story and character boards up in their front yards along East High Avenue.

His granddaughter, Liz Hicks, contributed to this new book. She says work on story book lane started in 1955 and it has been a tradition ever since.

Book editor Karen Jenkins says she pitched the idea to the rotary to get the book published, with all proceeds going back to the preservation of story book lane. A committee was quickly formed to make the book a reality.

The book is expected out in early February.
