Praise but also frustrations were expressed by some council members during Thursday evening’s Uhrichsville meeting.

Councilman Matt Fox thanked administration for painting the handicap spots at the Jr. High School and hoped that more will be done across the street and for the corners to be painted.

Councilwoman Wendy Mann added her praise for the striping around the schools; however, she again brought up the lack of road lines on Newport Road SE.

“When it is dark out, it is black, you can’t see. We need to address that before we get cold weather again because somebody is going to get seriously injured out that road.”

Council President Robert Cottrell also noted that he had brought up this road section previously with requests to add the center and outside edge lines, but nothing has been done.

Service Director Belle Everett was unable to attend this week’s meeting, but when reached out to, she noted that Country Road 28 is set for paving in mid to late September so putting lines down at this time would be a waste of resources.
