Gwen Rummell Reporting –

The Alcohol, Drug Addiction, & Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board of Tuscarawas & Carroll Counties will host a ceremony for the creation of a men’s substance use treatment and recovery center.

Stillwater Crossing will be the first publicly funded men’s residential treatment center in the two-county area. The ceremony is set to happen at 10 am on August 9th and the building is anticipated to be completed in May 2024. The center will be located at 700 Dudgeon Way, Dennison.

Executive Director Natalie Bollon says the creation of the treatment center is a groundbreaking event that will help men receive treatment closer to home.

“When you’re able to do a group with someone who really knows what it’s like to be in the depths of that addiction, the connection that they have and the hope they are able to give is really invaluable. So if you’re pairing that with a trained counselor, the sky is the limit.”

Stillwater Crossing will be a nine room facility and will house up to 16 men at a time. Services include medication, support groups, individual therapy, and case management. The services will focus on supporting the transition from addiction to sobriety and will teach on how to sustain recovery.
