Mary Alice Reporting –

Every three years a survey is released for Tuscarawas County residents related to health assessment.

The goal behind the anonymous data is to identify key health problems and needs of county residents.

Healthy Tusc hosts the survey and Chairperson Jennifer Demuth says it takes an average of 15 minutes to complete the diverse questions to identify health priorities.

“What types of medical services, are you exercising, are you able to eat your fruit and vegetables, do you feel like you’re able to find even affordable housing, so it really asks a number of questions to help us really understand, as a community, what those vital needs are.”

Demuth adds that not only will this information provide a guide for local health organizations.

“And very importantly find funders and grant funding that will help us pay for those new services to help meet the needs in Tuscarawas County.”

Those participating in the survey will be prompted, once finished, to open a separate form and there, individuals can submit their contact information to be entered into a gas gift drawing.

The survey will be open throughout June and is in collaboration with over 20 Tuscarawas County health and human services organizations.
