Mary Alice Reporting –
A one-day fundraising campaign will be held on November 28th and the money will go to the Tuscarawas Valley Local and Buckeye Career Center communities.
The Tuesday following Thanksgiving is known as Giving Tuesday which helps non-profits raise money for continued operations and this year, the Tuscarawas Arts Partnership designed to create the Arts Heals Campaign instead.
Director Wilma Mullet says following the tragic bus accident the two school districts experienced, money gifted to the campaign will aid in therapy.
Mullet explains all funds will be used to expand or plan future art therapy programs.
“The goal of arts therapy to utilize the arts to be a resource, a safe place, for people to process what they’re going through, where there’s grief to process or steps of healing they need to go through.”
Any monetary donations made through the online link on TAP’s social media or dropped off at their office, located at 124 E. High Avenue, Suite A, in New Philadelphia, will go toward the Arts Heals Campaign.
