The Tuscarawas County Health Department is recognizing fall prevention awareness week starting on this Monday.

Public health educator Abigale Rogers says the department is launching a series of pop-up events specifically for fall prevention, where they’ll be offering free adult vision screening assessments, fall risk assessments, and registration for upcoming balance mobility classes.

Rogers says the events are encouraged for older adults, their family members, or caregivers, and those with mobility issues.

“We welcome anybody to stop by and see what we have to offer even if you don’t know or have any close older adults in your life but you want to better prepare for your own personal aging journey.”

The fall prevention pop-up event’s will be from 9 to noon tomorrow at the senior center, Wednesday at medi-wise pharmacy in Newcomerstown and Thursday at Mako’s market in Uhrichsville.

Friday’s pop-up event is from 10 to 2 at the Gnadenhutten public library.
