Mary Alice Reporting –

An initiative is getting staff with the Tuscarawas County Health Department out into the community to provide education on services.

The next “Popping Up” event is Friday, from 5 to 8pm, at the Movement Community Center, on W. Main Street, in Port Washington.

Director of Health Promotion & Community Relations Jennifer Demuth notes that TCHD provides many services and this is a way to spread information to the public.

“To provide a place where folks can come, that’s close to their home, where they can get information and help from us. We know, with our location being in Dover, it’s not always easy for folks to get to our actual office.”

At Friday’s event, TCHD Health Educators will be on hand to provide material on a variety of programs.

“They will have information on how to quit smoking, vaping, and they will also have free Narcan kits, and they’re going to have a lot more information about our services, so we really hope a lot of the folks from Port Washington will stop by and see our health educators.”

For more information on the Pop Up event or about programs, contact the Tuscarawas County Health Department at 330-343-5555 or go online to www.tchdnow.org.
