Gwen Rummell Reporting –
As mosquitoes become more active, the Tuscarawas County Health Department is giving tips to the public.
To keep mosquitoes at bay, residents can reduce the amount of water used in yards, use insect repellent, wear long-sleeved shirts and pants, and avoid peak hours. TCHD’s Mosquito Control program will be starting soon.
Residents who would like to be added to the no spray list should call 330-343-5550 or email eh@tchdnow.org. Those who do so must request the status each year.
The Health Department notes that they will schedule spraying after detecting mosquitoes that have tested positive for West Nile Virus or other mosquito-borne diseases.
