An investigation led to a citation for a teenager who admitted to deliberately passing a school bus that was actively releasing kids.
The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office notes that on November 5th, they received reports of a reckless operator in the Wainwright area.
Some indicated the car went left of center and through a front yard to pass an Indian Valley school bus that was stopped to let kids depart.
Through the investigation, Deputy Grant Haun spoke with a 17-year-old female who admitted to purposefully passing the bus to get home quicker.
She was issued a failing to stop citation and will appear in Tuscarawas County Juvenile Court.
The sheriff’s office reminds all to slow down and stop around all school buses, especially when it’s displaying flashing lights, not only because it’s the law but for safety reasons, which could lead to a major tragedy.
