The New Philadelphia Police Department was made aware of an online post threatening school safety.
A release notes that on March 2nd, at around 4:40am, the police department was notified of the possible threat through the Ohio statewide Terrorism Analysis and Crime Center from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Officers were in contact with school officials, juvenile probation, and other outside agencies during the investigation of a 15-year-old New Philadelphia male who “posted a threat of violence for Monday, March 3rd to a private story on his account”.
Police says the teen was taken into custody at his home. A report will be filed with the Tuscarawas County prosecutor’s Office for possible charges.
