Officials are still waiting for an update on the condition of a 16-year-old girl who was pulled from the water at Woods Tall Timbers Sunday afternoon.

Tuscarawas County Sheriff Orvis Campbell says witnesses reported the girl was playing on the inflatables and disappeared in the water around 5pm. People at the lake formed a line and found the girl. Campbell says she was not breathing. They pulled her out and performed CPR and used an AED.

Deputies and the New Philadelphia Fire Department arrived and took over life-saving measures. The girl was flown to Akron Children’s Hospital.

UPDATE: On Monday, July 14th, the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office
that the teen, from Canton, had passed away.
