Theresa Ann Shonk, 78, of Gnadenhutten, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, in Riverside Manor at Newcomerstown. 

Born at Martins Ferry, Theresa was the daughter of the late Howard A. and Betty V. (Tipton) West and was a proud graduate of the former Gnadenhutten High School at Gnadenhutten. 

Theresa worked as an Accounts Receivable Clerk at Square Deal Auto Parts, where her diligent work ethic and cheerful demeanor left an indelible mark on her colleagues. Retiring after many years of dedicated service, she cherished the friendships and memories made along the way.

Theresa’s life was deeply intertwined with her faith as a longtime member of the Pleasant Grove Church at Stillwater. Her contributions to the church were numerous; she served as the recording secretary and also lent her voice to the church choir, sharing her passion for music and her love of community worship. In addition to her church activities, Theresa was a former member of T.O.P.S., embracing a journey of health and community support that showcased her unwavering dedication to personal growth and the well-being of others. 

Theresa is survived by her husband, Jerald S. Shonk of the residence; daughters, Barbara (Rob) Rennard of Port Washington and Michelle Fraelich of Columbus; three grandchildren, Breanna (James) Fisher, Lane (Morgan) Rennard and Zander Fraelich; four great-grandchildren, Ava Fisher, Aaron Fisher, Avery Fisher, Addison Fisher and a brother, Gail “Buzz” West of New York.

In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her first husband, Jon W. Fraelich, and a grandson, Robbie Rennard.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 4 to 7 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Koch and Pastor Jon Kinsey officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
