“Together Again”

Thomas E. Bennett, 78, of New Philadelphia, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024.

Born on April 27, 1946, Thomas was the son of the late Ralph E. and Alice J. (Allensworth) Bennett and a graduate of the former Uhrichsville High School at Uhrichsville. A veteran of the United States Army, Thomas served honorably in Germany during the Vietnam War where his commitment to his country was a testament to his strong character and unwavering dedication to service.

He dedicated most of his life as a self-employed Painter, showcasing his artistry and craftsmanship in every project he undertook. Thomas was also known for his kindness and generosity, traits that touched the lives of many. He had a passion for gardening, where he cultivated a variety of produce. Thomas delighted in sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends, enriching their lives with both his bountiful harvest and warm spirit.

On July 27, 1985, Thomas married his wife, Jill (Riggle) Bennett and together they shared over 27 years of marriage until her passing in December 2012.

He is survived by his sister, Marla Dieter of Strasburg; his two brothers, Gary (Connie) Bennett and Jim (Christi) Bennett, both of Venice, Florida and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Thomas was also preceded in death by two sisters, Kay Russell and Jill Dickens.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation care is to be provided by the Geib Funeral Center at Dover and public services are not to be scheduled at this time.
