Thomas Lloyd McQueen, 88, of New Philadelphia passed away in his home on Thursday, July 28, 2022, following an extended illness.

Born on August 12, 1933, in Stark County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Burnell) McQueen and married the former Nancy Travis on November 10, 1956.

Thomas served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war and retired as an inspector from Gradall in New Philadelphia after 34 years of service. He enjoyed helping his son Steve raising and showing Belgian Draft horses and was a member of the Broadway Methodist Church,  

In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by his four children; Greg (Janet) McQueen of Sugarcreek, Kevin McQueen, Steve (Michelle) McQueen, and Lorraine (Ken) Aubihl all of New Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Angela (Kurt) Knisely, Wes (Laura) Aubihl, Tyler McQueen, Emilie McQueen; two great-grandchildren Zoe and Rowan Knisely; and a sister Shirley Hunter of Canton.  He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Virginia and brother Gail.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek on Monday, August 1, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Harley Wheeler officiating.  Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Sugarcreek American Legion Post #494.  Friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service from 10 am to 12 pm.
