Mary Alice Reporting –
Three council seats in the City of Dover had opposition in the November General Election.
Results are not yet certified but based upon numbers, three new faces will serve at the start of the year.
Josh Legg was able to take the lead and he thanked current councilmember Greg Bair for his leadership, and he thanked voters for their support.
“I want to thank the City of Dover for putting their trust in basically, a newcomer, who wants to see the city get a fresh start and the city do well but at the same time they put their faith in me and I don’t take that for granted.”
Legg said once he’s learned how council operates, he wants to focus on accessibility and project concerns happening in Ward 1
For the Ward 3 seat, Cody Jerles was able to surpass current councilwoman Sandy Moss.
Meanwhile, Nate Johnson was able to retain the majority of votes for the Dover Ward 4 seat, beating out incumbent Robert Mueller. Johnson said his main goal is to keep the city a great place for people to live and raise a family.
“I am excited to win, to be part of the Dover council, I’m appreciative of all the help that went into the whole process from start to finish. I have a young family and I just want to help out where I can.”
Johnson also noted his passion of revitalizing Dover and focusing on mental health.
Results are preliminary until the Tuscarawas County Board of Election certifies the ballot.
