The first speaker for the Women’s Success Series has been announced.

The March 1st event, at Kent State University Tuscarawas’s Science and Technology Center, will feature Amy Smith, WJER’s General Manager.

During each session, participants hear from a dynamic woman who have enjoyed a measure of success in Tuscarawas County.

Since beginning her career at the radio station, in 1996, Smith has held positions as on-air announcer, news reporter, cable TV morning show producer, continuity director, and account executive prior to becoming general manager in 2017. A Dover High School graduate, Smith received her bachelor’s degree in public relations from Kent State University’s School of Journalism. 

She has also served on many local boards and is currently engaged in the Miss Clayland Scholarship Pageant, the Tuscarawas County YMCA, and the Tuscarawas Senior Center.

Tickets for the 8:30 to 11:30am speaking event are $15 and can be purchased by going to the Women’s Success Series Facebook page and finding the event brite link.
