Tom “Buddy” Potts, 89, of Dover passed away at his home on Thursday, November 21, 2024.
Born on September 6, 1935, in Waynesboro, Tennessee, he was a son of the late Luther and Theo Brewer Potts. Buddy was also preceded in death by his sisters, Jennie Alexander, Maxine Potts; and his brother, James Potts.
Buddy dedicated 45 years of his life to EKCO in Massillon before retiring in 1997. He was known to be very handy, often engaging in various projects around the home, which showcased his skills and ingenuity. His passion for painting and crafting beautiful birdhouses allowed him to express his artistic side. He was also a member of the Salvation Army.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty York Potts whom he married on June 12, 1955; sisters, Nadine (Bill) Alexander and Rose Breitenstein, both of Dover; brother, Robert (Sandra) Potts of New Philadelphia, and many loving nieces and nephews. They, along with his many friends and acquaintances, will remember Buddy for his caring nature and the warmth he brought into their lives.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 26th starting at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Matthew Wald officiating. Interment will be at the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. The family will be greeting friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
