Mary Alice Reporting –

An update was recently provided related to the Trenton Avenue Road project that will create a short detour.

The project start date was pushed back following unknown plans for directing traffic and how the Claymont City School would navigate buses and student pickup and drop-off traffic.

At the latest Uhrichsville Council meeting, Code Enforcer Amy Myers provided an update following a meeting.

“My concern was not having the City of Uhrichsville pay any money at all with the change order that might happen, and they assured me there wouldn’t be any so we think we have a resolution for that. Once we figure that out, and know what it is, Tucson Inc. will notify the residents and businesses, and Claymont will obviously notify all the students and parents.”

Some design features still needed to be worked out, which could push the April 15th start date back later.

The road work will include new storm sewers, curbs, and pavement, and spans from S. Jay Street to Herrick Street. Local traffic will be permitted through, and all others will detour on Jaycee Road, Holiday Avenue, and onto Newport Avenue. Construction will wrap up by July 31st.
