Troy A. Weller, 51, of Dover, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from a suspected heart attack.

Born on April 1, 1975, in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of Theresa Aslinger McDonald of Dover and the late John McDonald.

A 1993 graduate of Dover High School, Troy worked at S & L Lumber in Barberton and was a long-time employee at Holmes Lumber in Dover for 20 years. He was a member of Burning River Church in Dover.

Troy loved his God, family, sports, and work—in that order. He coached youth baseball and football when his children were younger. He had a lifelong passion for boxing, competing in his younger years, and later owned a boxing gym where he taught area youth the skills of the sport and gave life lessons to at-risk kids in the ring. He was known for always lending a helping hand. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a dedicated fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Cleveland Indians.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Johna Page Weller, whom he married on December 18, 1993; children, Devon Schaar and his companion, Tiffany Walker of Dover, Kaitlen (Jake) Hall of Massillon, Chase (Tiffani) Weller of Strasburg, Kyle Weller and Kylee Weller both of Dover; mother-in-law, Robyn Page of New Philadelphia; aunt, Dorothy Winkler of New Philadelphia; and grandchildren, Brian, Amberlee, Izzy, Addy, Gracelynn, Ezekiel, and Braelynn. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Isaiah Weller.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 14th at 11:00 a.m. at Burning River Church with Pastor Dode Overton officiating. Interment will follow at Dover Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 13th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover
