The 57th production of Trumpet in the Land opens on this Friday.

General Manager Margaret Bonamico says the show depicts the story of Schoenbrunn Village.

“It’s about the founding of Schoenbrunn and the massacre at Gnadenhutten at the hands of Colonel David Williamson.”

She says the production features a lot of elements like music, dance, and drama.

The outdoors provides us the opportunity to do special effects that you couldn’t do in an indoor facility.”

Tickets are available at the box office after 5pm. Curtain time is at 8:30pm. Travel Tusc Tickets can also be used opening night. Those tickets provide Tuscarawas County residents free admission. Travel Tusc Tickets can be found at the Tuscarawas County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau in downtown New Philadelphia.

Trumpet in the Land has many show dates over the next several months. For details, go to trumpetintheland.com.

The outdoor amphitheater also has showings for the Rogers and Hammerstein musical State Fair and Noah from A to Z.
