It’s an off election year but there’s still plenty on the general election ballot.

Candidate races some Tuscarawas County voters will see include:

– Dover Council At Large: 3 seats are open as 5 vie for the spots that are for a 4-year term. Those candidates are Dave Callender, incumbent Perci Garner, Gregory Bair, incumbent John Correll, and Zachary Wallick.

– New Philadelphia’s Board of Education: Out of the 4 running, 2 can be elected to the 4-year term. Those running are Jane Bachman, Joe Morris, George Summers, and Andrew Zimmerman.

– Fairless Board of Education: Has 3 seats to fill and four names, Jody Seward, Derek Shanklin, Cathy Soehnlen, and Jordan Starcher.

– Indian Valley Board of Education: 4 individuals are vying for 3 seats. Candidates are Michele Carlisle, Kelsey Davis, Travis Love, and Travis Stocker.

Strasburg Local School Board: this contested races has four names, Jordan Broggs, Diana Flickinger, Ashlee Hayes, and Brent Miller. Only 3 can be elected.

Registered voters in November’s general election will see some issue on the ballot.

All county residents will see:

– Issue 1: ADAMHS Board replacement levy over 10 years collecting roughly $1.4 million annually at a cost of $18 per $100,000 appraised value.

– Issue 2: Tuscarawas County Senior Center is seeking a 0.8 mill renewal and an increase of 0.4 mill over 5 years. The estimated $2.8 million will go for programing and services at all Senior Center locations.

A majority of voters will see:

– Issue 20: This replacement levy, for a continuing period, is for the Tuscarawas County Public Library to not exceed 1 mill. It amounts to $35 for each $100,000 home value. The dollars would support material, technology, staffing, and general costs at the main and branch library locations.

In varying precincts, there’s renewals or replacements in the City of Dover, Village of Dennison, Village of Zoar, Newcomerstown Library, and Tri-county Joint Ambulance Services.

Issue 19 is for New Philadelphia City School District voters: This is a 37-year bond and a continuing levy for the purpose of building new schools and general permanent improvements.

The general election ballot also has a substitute 10-year levy for Fairless Local School District, which includes some Tuscarawas and Stark county voters. The Newcomerstown Exempted Village District has a five-year renewal, at 9.2 mill, and this levy includes votes from those in the district out of Tuscarawas, Coshocton, and Guernsey counties.

Polling locations are open on this Tuesday from 6:30am to 7:30pm.
