The community showed their support for the TUFF Bags program after a successful event.
The 2nd annual Feeding Our Future Gala sold out of tickets and was held at the end of August.
Director Lisa Walker thanked all those who attended and donated to the non-profit as, after expenses, they raised $38,500.
“Every dollar of that raised amount will go toward purchasing food for the children we serve here in Tuscarawas County.”
TUFF Bags serves more than five local school district and roughly 1,600 children. The overall goal of the program is to eliminate food insecurity for children when they go home for the weekend. Find more information about the local backpack program by finding TUFF Bags on Facebook.
