Nick McWilliams reporting – Eleven area students were awarded scholarships through Tuscarawas County YMCA and the Thomas J. Patton Scholarship Fund.

In total, $13,400 in scholarships were given out in memory of the 40-plus years of service to the community by Patton at the Y.

Since the fund was first introduced in 1990, a total of 99 students have received scholarships.

Seven of the 11 students were first time recipients, with the other four receiving a scholarship for the second time.
