Residents can still sign-up for the 5k run/walk that’s a fundraiser for the Tuscarawas County YMCA.

The 53rd annual Turkey Trot, on November 28th, is something the entire family can enjoy, says race director Ryan Hursey.

“Just a little over three miles. It’s a walk and run, and in the past few years we’ve actually had people bring their dogs to run, strollers, so it’s a nice family event.”

Registration, at www.runsignup.com, prior to race day is $20 for youth 15 and under, and $35 for those older. The amounts increase by five-dollars on race day.

All proceeds provide direct financial support for the Y’s annual campaign.

“For people in our community, so we help children to be able to attend our day camp, or swim lessons, or sometimes an adult who is not totally able to fully afford a membership, so we’re trying to make it available, so everybody has access.”

The 5k starts at 9am and will take participants on some city streets, which will be manned by police and volunteers.
