Nick McWilliams reporting – The Tuscarawas County commissioners recognized the auditor’s office for proficient work in the fiscal year ending December 31st, 2020.

Each year, the Government Finance Officers Association conducts audits of financial offices from around the state, checking for accurate reporting and record keeping.

Auditor Larry Lindberg, who was in attendance for the Wednesday meeting, says that Tuscarawas County has a long streak of receiving recognition from the state, earning the high marks for the 35th straight year.

Commissioner Kerry Metzger, who has spent many years working for the county, offered his respect for Lindberg.

“I’ve appreciated working with you over 17 and a half years. As Commissioner [Al] Landis stated, you’ve been extremely professional. You have great communication skills with us. Any time I’ve made a call, you got the information back to me in a very timely fashion.”

Lindberg’s office received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, along with the recognition from the county commissioners.

A liaison for State Auditor Keith Faber was also in attendance Monday.

Joan Gladman, who works in the auditor’s office, was also mentioned on the certificate.
